EACH SIGN IS A HANDMADE ORIGINAL WITH A STAMP OF QUALITY

Classic street signs, family crests, building signs - every such sign goes through the same production process. The production of enamel signs is an honest craft, no machine production. Each sign passes through the hands of a plumber, a spray painter, a graphic artist, a stenciler and a hammerer who devote hours of work to it.
Our deep Czech enamel factory focuses on traditional enamel sign production and its history dates back to 1938 when it was called Ferrosmalt Praha.

THE PRICE CORRESPONDS TO THE QUALITY AND COMPLEXITY OF PRODUCTION

Genuine enamel signs cannot be cheap, but their price will certainly not ruin your wallet. If your priority is the quality and permanence of the product, it always has its price. To give you a better idea, here are the price ranges for some of our product categories.

TREAT ENAMEL LIKE GLASS

SMALT is a thin layer of coloured enamel, applied to a steel plate and fired at a temperature of approximately 830°C. This guarantees the highest possible weather resistance, absolute colour fastness, high gloss and an almost unlimited lifetime.

When fitting the CEDULES, proceed with care, as if you were fitting, for example, a glass mirror. Never attach an enamel sign with nails or rivets, use only screws or bolts. Do not use AKU tools to tighten screws or bolts, but always use only a conventional screwdriver. Tighten screws or bolts very lightly.

If you need any help with the installation of your enamel sign, please do not hesitate to contact us.

WE CAN PRODUCE ALMOST ANYTHING

The maximum size of the sign is 1200 x 800 mm, but larger areas can be created by stacking individual segments together. The sign can have any shape, it can be straight, convex (bomber) or with moulded edges (signed).

We produce classic motifs by hand stencilling, for graphically complex (photorealistic) ones we use ceramic decals.

There is probably no motif or sign size that we cannot handle.

If you send us basic information about your desired sign, its size, colour, description of the motif, text or picture of the sign and the desired number of pieces, we will send you a quotation immediately. We will be happy to create a graphic design for you.

HOW IS IT MADE?

Each enamel sign must go through a time-consuming and technologically demanding process from the production of the sheet metal blank to the final firing, after which the enamel is virtually indestructible and colourfast. Its lifespan is measured in decades and each individual sign is actually an original.

Spraying of the base enamel

This process is repeated after each firing for each subsequent colour.

Basic enamel firing at 790°C

This process is also repeated for each subsequent colour.

Manual templating

The enamel that has not yet been fired is removed with a brush over the stencil so that only the desired motif remains.

The number of firings varies according to the number of colours and the complexity of the motif. Each plate must undergo at least three firings. Note how the colours of the signs change as they cool.
